Spiders, ticks and scorpions (Chelicerata) have bodies divided into three major body sections, the front cephalothorax composed of eight segments, an abdomen (opisthosoma) composed of twelve segments plus a tail fan (telson). They can be separated into spiders and scorpions (Arachnida), horseshoe crabs (Merostomata), and sea spiders (Pycnogonida. We provide comprehensive descriptions including anatomy, physiology, behavior, distribution, reproduction and life cycle, habitat, and other biological or ecological aspects of spiders, ticks and scorpions.
