Spiders, ticks and scorpions (
Chelicerata) have bodies divided into three major body sections, the front cephalothorax composed of eight segments, an abdomen (opisthosoma) composed of twelve segments plus a tail fan (telson). They can be separated into spiders and scorpions (
Arachnida), horseshoe crabs (
Merostomata), and sea spiders (
Pycnogonida. We provide comprehensive descriptions including anatomy, physiology, behavior, distribution, reproduction and life cycle, habitat, and other biological or ecological aspects of spiders, ticks and scorpions.
