Estuarine Research Federation 2001. Florida, US. 4-8 November 2001
Continuation of a state-sponsored conference of the same name first held almost 40 years ago, and then again in 1997. CWO '02 will provide an opportunity to use California as a case study and a springboard for discussions on the best ways to create, implement, or improve ocean and coastal resource management strategies for coastal states, territories, and commonwealths located throughout the United States and the world.
Workshop that examined the potential advances that can be achieved by inclusion of observatory-based measurements, assimilative modeling techniques and other emerging technologies into coastal research initiatives.
The conference covers a broad range of interests centered on the management of river and coastal flood risks and coastal erosion, and is now generally held to have developed into one of UK's premier engineering related conferences with attendance regularly approaching 400 delegates.
Papers dealing with any aspect of tracer methods may be submitted, including theoretical, observational and numerical approaches. Contributions related to climatological analyses of marine data will also be highly appreciated. Studies related to atmospheric processes are welcome, especially if they deal with methods that can be used in marine applications.
IGBP and SCOR are developing a new project focussed on ocean biogeochemistry and ecosystems and the impacts of global change. This Open Science Conference invites input into the development of the science focus of the project through plenary sessions, workshops and poster presentations.
