The primary object of the First International Conference of Maritime Terminology was to bring together specialists in the language of seafarers and those involved in the study or teaching of maritime terminology. The present Proceedings include the various papers presented at the Conference.
Subjects covered include ocean processes, ocean observations, marine ecosystems and the affect of man and aquaculture. Abstracts of the theme sessions are available.
A forum to advance the key issues in European marine research and intends in particular to foster the exchange of ideas across the boundaries of science, administration and policy. Therefore, all administrators and politicians as well as scientists and engineers from the private and public sectors in marine science and ocean technology are invited to attend and participate in the discussions or present papers.
