Cropping systems that routinely use herbicides such a halosulfuron will dramatically reduce populations of nutsedge since halosulfuron can control tubers. This may actually be the greatest benefit of halosulfuron in cropping systems that include vegetable crops.

The spotted, striped and banded cucumber beetles are very harmful to cucurbits (members of the gourd family, including cucumbers, melons, pumpkins and squashes), particularly young plants. Beetles commence feeding on plants as soon as they emerge and either kill the plants or greatly slow growth.

The Melon HoneyDew Sweet Delight, 'Cucumis melo-Inodorous Group (Hybrid)', has a really wonderful flavor that is sweet and juicy. One of the reasons HoneyDew has not been super popular in this country is the cardboard-like taste you get from the grocery store HoneyDew melons.
