During the growing season of 2004 we grew 15 varieties of melons at the Horticulture Research Center. Unfortunately we were plagued by an intense golf-ball sized hail storm on August 10, 2004. The marketable harvest of most melons was drastically reduced.
Wilson Judd Melón received his B.A. in Spanish and French from Middlebury College. A heritage speaker of Spanish, with a research focus on Peninsular Spain, Judd spent half of his junior year studying at the Middlebury College School in Madrid.
Disease Symptoms: Foliar symptoms appear as necrotic, sometimes water-soaked, V-shaped lesions which extend back towards the midrib of the plant and which are usually surrounded by a yellow halo.
