Cauliflower is a cool-season crop, closely related to broccoli, cabbage, kale, turnips, and mustard. Cauliflower is much more difficult to grow successfully than the other crops in its family, because of its need for exacting climatic conditions.

Cut the cauliflower into smaller "heads" and cook until tender in boiling water. Drain water from pan and add a couple of big squirts of ketchup. Add about a teaspoon or more of hot sauce. Stir cauliflower gently so you don't make a mush. Serve warm.

CAULIFLOWER This cool-season vegetable is a close relative of cabbage. However, cauliflower takes longer to develop and is not as cold hardy as cabbage and broccoli. Therefore, cauliflower often is considered more difficult to grow. It is also fairly intolerant of summer heat and drought.
