Similar to an onion, but milder and with smaller bulbs. The leaves are cylindrical and hollow. The purple-pink flowers are borne in dense terminal clusters. Probably a native of China, it has been used in cooking since the dawn of history.

Die Exkursion führte erstmalig in das Gebiet und damit auch in die Nordalpen. Der Spitzingsee ist malerisch gelegen. Das Exkursionsziel bot Wanderungen rund um den See sowie Besichtigungen von eindrucksvollen Hochmooren im Vorland der Nordalpen. Diese konnten auch ohne Probleme betreten werden.
