PRC Proteomics Research Center at the University of Toronto
The lab involves all current aspects of research into protein structure and function including: molecular dynamics, ab initio folding, machine-learning based fold recognition, protein-protein interaction, and theoretical modeling of protein mechanics.
NCI-Proteomics program aims to identify and characterize the protein signatures of human cells and tissues, and to apply technologies directly to patient diagnosis, monitoring and therapeutic intervention. Includes links to Frederick, Maryland.
The center's mission is to apply state-of-the-art methods and to develop new approaches and techniques to investigate the proteomics of adaptation to ischemia and hypoxia, a biological process of general relevance to heart, lung and blood diseases.
The CPC is funded by the NIH/NHLBI to analyze protein variations caused by oxidative stress, a condition influenced by smoking, exposure to ionizing radiation, and other lifestyle and environmental processes. Includes related links at Boston, Massachusetts.
Duncan laboratory, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, develops and applies proteomics methods to problems in clinical research. Activities include quantification and characterization of proteins (including their modifications) in complex biological tissues and fluids.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Angelika GAśrg, the group focuses on the methodical development of 2D electrophoresis with immobilized pH gradients (IPG-Dalt) for proteome analysis, and the application of proteomics to various fields of research by studying differential protein expression using modern separation and detection technologies as well as mass spectrometry.
Facility for clinical targeted research, also offering protein extraction, 2D-PAGE with fluorescent or silver stain, excision and bioinformatic identification by MALDI-MS fingerprinting. Includes fees, patents and publications at Kentucky.
Facility for the research community, with instrumens, protocols, educational materials and message boards. Includes links to services and project feasibility submission at Michigan State University, East Lansing.
