The group of cantaloupes (Cucumis melo, Cucurbitaceae) comprises four types of sweet melons seperated by appearance of their skin, i.e., muskmelon (var. cantalupensis), cantaloupe (var. reticulatus), smooth melon (var. saccharinus) and winter melon (var. inodorus). We provide information about the numerous aspects of production of cantaloupe including cultivation, pests and diseases, harvest, postharvest and storage.
