Saute for two minutes or so. Add some fresh sliced basil (to taste) to the mixture in sauté pan, along with a little salt. You may also add a small chopped chile pepper if you like your sauce spicy. Saute until basil wilts.

Return to recipes. I can never get enough asparagus. This is a warm salad, potentially a light entree. I've lost the source of this recipe. Walnut oil should be available in most large supermarkets or in a gourmet shop. It isn't cheap, but it's good once in a while.

Acelga (Swiss Chard) is a type of beet that is grown for its large leaf stalks and leaves. Acelga leaves are best prepared like spinach or beet greens - cooking with very little water. Acelga stems have a delicate flavor much like asparagus and are prepared in a similar way.

A. Since Swiss chard is a close relative of beets, plant it the same time you do beets. Generally seeds should be planted 2 to 3 weeks before the average last killing spring frost. In all but the northern parts seed can be sown for harvesting through the winter and most of the following year.
